Independence day comes late.

All is well. I turned in my grant… and I received the verification that it reached it’s intended final resting place destination. It is about time- I’ve been practically living in this office continuously for about the last three weeks- I did not even take off independence day. It looks like a frat boy’s dorm room in here … minus the empty beer cans… there is stuff piled high everywhere and anywhere. You PIs out there that read this blog know what I’m talking about. It’s a wonder that I have fingers left for typing this post. Last night I seriously thought I was going to need a brace on my right wrist. DrMrA’s been a champ- doing so awesome with the kids and the other night when I came home an actual dinner was prepared…. although it was 10 pm so it was cold and left over (my fault, not his), but he is my hero nevertheless.

But, no rest for the wicked. I’ve got things to get ready for the meeting, some yucky compliance paperwork to fill out, a no-cost extension to apply for, and two papers to submit prior to the meeting… listed roughly in reverse order of importance. That and I promised myself no late nights this week- I miss my girls and want to have dinner like a normal person for a few consecutive days. Perhaps I’ll be able to squeeze in a blog entry or two? We shall see….I think I’m due for some work-life balance.
